CONTRIBUTOR BIOS

ANNA LEWIN – United Kingdom

Hello! I’m Anna. I’ve been following a low FODMAP lifestyle (and blogging) for a year now, and what a difference it has made to how I feel! I now have a much better understanding of my body, and which FODMAP foods will affect me – it’s been a time of real discovery. I’m very excited to be a guest blogger for FODMAP Life and hope you enjoy the posts. I adapt recipes with a ‘keep it simple’ approach – life is already complicated enough! Anna xo

CAITLIN WHEAT- Chile

Hi I’m Caitlin Wheat a.k.a The IBS Lady. An out-of-the-box Naturopath who gets stuff sorted.  I use my personal experience and Naturopathic knowledge to help people recover from Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

IBS is a complex condition, that can’t be treated with just one pill. Thus, naturopaths, such as myself, are uniquely trained to provide a holistic approach to treatment that encompasses the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects together.   Many people with IBS get very embarrassed about it. For some it is also quite debilitating and impacts greatly on their everyday lives. I know exactly how this feels as I suffered for many years from IBS before training as a Naturopath to heal myself. I now use this education and experience to help IBS sufferers take their lives back, just like I did.  I offer one-on-one consultations to get to the root cause of your IBS.

CORT DAVIES – Boston, MA

Hi, I’m Cort Davies.  I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in October of 1999 and have been fighting the battle ever since.  In the early years of my illness, I researched and found alternative ways to deal with my pain and went from 16 pills a day to none in just six months and have since been off medication for over 10 years.

believe in helping individuals that are suffering from Crohn’s or Colitis by giving them options they may have not before considered.  There is nothing that makes me happier than being able to help someone get through pain and get back to living a normal life.  I live in Boston Massachusetts where I’m a co-owner in a marketing agency.

JOANA OLIVEIRA – Belgium

My name is Joana and I’m a Portuguese cultural manager and a passionate foodie living in Belgium. I have been recently diagnosed with Post-Infectious Irritable Bowel Syndrome and I now follow the low-FODMAP diet. As a result of this experience I’ve created the blog My Gut Feeling.

AMANDA HESLINGA – Columbus, Ohio

Hi, I’m Amanda Heslinga, a 26 year-old Crohn’s fighter. I’ve attended Kent State University and currently reside in Columbus, Ohio. I am a designer for the retail brand Abercrombie & Fitch and I spend my nights creating jewelry.  A portion of all sales from my jewelry are donated to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America.

CHEF MARCOS DE MARCO – San Diego, CA

Marcos collaborates with Colleen Francioli’s knowledge of the low-FODMAP diet and then develops and creates his own mouth-watering recipes for BonCalme like his low-FODMAP Spring Rolls and low-FODMAP Turkey Stuffed Eggplant!  Marcos is a graduate of the San Diego Culinary Institute.  He was born in São Paulo, Brazil to parents of Lebanese and Italian decent.  He brings a fusion of Lebanese, Brazilian, Italian and Asian flair to his dishes.  In his free time he plays in a band, runs and enjoys attending music concerts.  Complete bio coming soon.  Bio photo by Josh Kopelman.

ROSALIE CHAMBERLAIN – New Zealand

I’ve been wheat intolerant for many years and recently found out I have IBS. My gastroenterologist recommended a low FODMAP diet and I’m experimenting with this. It’s great to see how many foods I can actually eat and my symptoms are improving. I’m a freelance copywriter in New Zealand and write parenting articles and website content.
